The History Of Hab Nab

What is HAB NAB?
 Our family farm Since 1782.

What does it mean?
Hab-nab: verb; opposite of old English term "hobnob" which means to associate on very friendly terms (to suck up). Hab-nab means “get or lose, hit or miss or NOT TO HAVE” (to not care what they think).

In 1985 the business expanded to two frozen food trucks and two trucks hauling for the farm's grain/propane operation.

In 1992, Michael Hubbard bought out his brother's (Frederick Hubbard, Jr.) interest, making him majority owner. After the death of the firm's founder on August 1, 1994, Michael purchased the remaining stock, making him sole owner.

Our Founder
Frederick Dawson Hubbard Sr.

Hab Nab Trucking was founded in 1979 by Frederick D. Hubbard, Sr. It was organized (as a Sub-C Corporation) for the sole purpose of hauling grain for the family farm (driven by Frederick "Dawson" Hubbard, Jr.) and the hauling of frozen food (driven by Donald Patrick - who retired in 2005).

In 1986, Michael Hubbard started hauling bulk commodities with a fifth truck. Throughout the early 1990s Michael, led the company in the direction of the bulk commodities operation. Hab Nab Trucking expanded to eight company trucks and fourteen company trailers, which were primarily used for hauling of bulk commodities into twenty-eight states and refrigerated freight to the northeast.

Since then the "HNT Group" has expanded to include a brokerage that loads over 150 trucks daily, Hab Nab Transportation; Hab Nab Trucking, which currently owns 40 trucks and over 100 trailers; and HNT Bulk Carriers, which accommodates our leased owner operators.
